实心导轨是机加工导轨，是由导轨型材经机械加工导向面及连接部位而成，其用途是在电梯运行中为轿厢的运行提供导向，小规格的实心导轨也用于对重导向。实心导轨规格很多，按每米重量可分为：8K、13K、18K、24K、30K、50K等，按导轨底板宽度可分为T45、T50、T70、T75、T78、T82、T89、T90、T114、T127、T140等。

随着人们对电梯舒适度要求的提高及电梯速度的提高，高精度导轨是导轨生产的发展方向，高精度导轨是在普通导轨的基础上提高各方面的精度，比如导向面尺寸公差、导轨高度公差、榫槽对称度公差都由原来的0.1mm变为0.05mm，并增加了多项端部形位公差要求并提高了导轨直线度、扭曲度要求。高精度导轨是使用在高速电梯上的导轨，不但精度要高于普通导轨，而且还在工艺上消除导轨潜在的弯曲及扭曲变形因素，比如在导向面加工前对导轨型材进行充分的时效处理，以降低导轨型材内的残余应力，在加工端部尺寸前及精校前再次进行充分的时效处理，充分释放内应力，以降低在导轨安装之后应力引起的导轨弯形。
